Hygiene Measures

All events of the 20th international literature festival berlin take place under hygienic and safety precautions. In addition to the applicable minimum distance rules, please note the current recommendations of the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe for the containment of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The wearing of a mouth and nose mask is mandatory on the entire event site. Masks can be taken off after taking a seat. In case of illness, tickets can be returned online free of charge.

Safety distance: The recommended safety distance of 1.5 m must be observed on all festival grounds. Audience numbers will be limited accordingly.

Contact information: We require the name, address and telephone information of all ticket-holders/attendees. To avoid long queues at the box office on-site, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets online (www.eventim.de) prior to the event. You can also download the form “Contact information festival visitors” on our website (wwww.literaturfestival.com) and bring a print-out with you to the event.

Separate entrance and exit: A clearly signposted ‚one-way‘ system will be in place.

Masks are required to be worn before and after events. Masks will also be on sale at the entrance. We recommend masks to be worn at all times.

Anti-bacterial disinfectant will be available in all toilets, performance rooms, and common areas. Visitors are encouraged to wash and disinfect their hands regularly.

Hygiene and safety information: This hygiene and safety information will be advertised at the entrance. It will also be available in advance (in German and English) via all of our channels (website, social media, and newsletter).

Attendance recommendation: We recommend that persons feeling unwell stay at home to protect themselves and others. Tickets can be returned online without additional charges.

Corona-Warn-app: We recommend that visitors make use of the federal government’s Corona-Warn-app.

Ventilation: Event locations are aired after each event and/or constant air exchange is secured by a ventilation system.

The minimum distances within the class associations are also abolished for children and youth events of the 20th ilb. This is in agreement with the Senate Administration for Education, Youth and Family Affairs and analogous to its hygiene and safety regulations with regard to school events. Cross-cohort contacts, i.e. contacts between different classes, are avoided under any circumstances. For this purpose, individual seating plans are drawn up for each event, providing for a distance of 2-3 metres between different classes. Entrance and exit are strictly regulated and staggered in chronolical order, so that here too, the avoidance of cross-cohort contacts is guaranteed.
